1/31 Mokumoku-kai

On Sunday, I attended a 'mokumoku-kai' with female engineers. A 'mokumoku-kai' is a gathering where we come together to study in silence. The purpose of the gathering is to complete our respective tasks and socialize with other engineers.

There were three participants: the organizer, a woman from Belarus, and myself.

The woman from Belarus used to work in a different field but recently received a job offer for a web-based position. She mentioned that she studied on her own to make this career change and shared a website where I can learn web development for free.

The event's host mentioned that she worked for three years at the company she joined after graduating and then transitioned to freelancing.

Both of them mentioned how much they disliked their previous jobs, using that dissatisfaction as motivation to work hard and make a career change.

It's amazing that they actually made an effort to improve their situations.

It was very motivating.
